English: Let's Do Poetry

Do you want to put the fun and creativity back into writing? Do you want to feel inspired about writing imaginatively with your class? James Carter , one of the most high profile children's poets in the UK today will lead an engaging and very practical course, giving teachers the tools, skills, mind-set and confidence to put poetry at the heart of the classroom and everyday learning.

'Lets do Poetry' has an emphasis on writing and provides teachers with games and warm-ups, as well as a wide range of poetic ideas and linguistic structures for cross-curricular activities. This relevant, dynamic and enjoyable course will reinforce the fact that time spent working on poetry will also help to develop children's prose writing skills, deepen their understanding of the written word and further help them to become competent, confident and creative language users.
