Classics for All

This year’s course boasts an array of prestigious speakers and a broad range of themes. Our key focus is best practice in Classics teaching, with a practical workshop from Ed Clarke, the senior school perspective from Chris Smart and ample opportunity throughout the day for the sharing of resources and ideas among speakers and delegates alike. On Classical Civilisation – both its teaching and new research in the field – we are privileged to hear from Natalie Haynes and Edith Hall. Bob Bass meanwhile will speak on the evolution of Latin into French before updating delegates on the latest news from ISEB. The day will close with a Q&A session, offering the chance for discussion on potential changes to 13+ examinations, the rise of pre-tests, the future of Common Entrance and myriad topics besides.
