Drama: creating curriculums and adapting teaching during Covid-19

4 February 2021 10am – 12.15pm Subject Online

Does the thought of creating or updating your Drama curriculum leave you wondering where to start? Are you struggling to find simple and effective help for KS1 & 2? Would you welcome some ideas for starting points, objectives, outcomes and aims? There are many different approaches and ideas for the above, but how do we make sure we pick the best one for our particular cohort and setting; performance where both pupils and teachers engage and connect with what they are teaching and learning? Can we please all stakeholders?

This year, due to the nature of online delivery, we have opted for a forum rather than a workshop style CPD session. We will be covering Drama curriculum creation and also sharing ideas on adapting curriculums during the uncertain times we are facing. The morning will begin with sharing some effective ways and ideas to help formulate and create Drama curriculums that suit you, your school and your pupils.   Course Director, Saphron Smith, will then share the model used for creating her curriculum and how you can make that flexible and useful for your setting. This will be followed by a question and answer, general sharing and support session on the same topic. After a short break we will have a general discussion and sharing session on how we are managing Drama teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic and look at the ways in which we are dealing with restrictions.
