The University of Buckingham has a long history of working successfully to train teachers but this is the first time such an opportunity has been available targeted directly at IAPS members' schools.
The scheme is to offer a PGCE for prep schools as a means of promoting teacher recruitment.
The University of Buckingham is the only teacher training university which offers government-approved teacher training courses specifically for independent schools.
Trainees need to be employed by a school in order to take these courses but they can be employed as teaching assistants or games assistants prior to qualification.
IAPS has taken time to explore a number of options before settling on the partnership with Buckingham. It is our belief this offers the most cost effective, experienced teacher training option available to members in England and we hope as many members as possible will consider taking up this offer.
