St Leonards Junior School
St Leonards Junior School is the Junior section of St Leonards School. From a beautiful and secure campus in the heart of one of the most inspiring locations in the UK, St Leonards Junior School offers boys and girls the best possible start to their education.
Children at St Leonards Junior School benefit from a rich and varied education that aims to bring out the very best in every student, setting them up for life-long achievement and imbuing them with a love of learning.
The fantastic experience which our pupils enjoy has been improved further by an exciting £2.5m, state of the art redevelopment of the School buildings which was recently completed. The project ensures that our Junior School will continue to provide a top quality start to a St Leonards education through the 21st century and beyond.
Pupils at St Leonards Junior School enjoy learning in a truly inspirational setting. The School is part of the beautiful and secure, self contained St Leonards School campus set within the medieval walls of the former St Andrews Abbey. St Leonards Junior School students enjoy access to the full range of facilities and teaching resources the campus has to offer: buildings of national historical importance, such as the library which was used as lodgings by Mary Queen of Scots; a 25m indoor swimming pool; all weather sports pitches; golf practice facilities; a music auditorium and music teaching rooms.
Both our Junior and Senior sections feed off the inspirational buzz that comes from being at the heart of this famous university town. Idyllic beaches, historic landmarks and stunning countryside are just minutes away.
The School offers a carefully planned education programme which encourages our pupils to learn, grow and develop. Children receive a thorough grounding in core subjects and benefit from specialist input in subjects including French, Science, PE, Drama and Music, Art, History, Geography, Social Studies and ICT. A St Leonards Junior School education is an all round one though so pupils also have the chance to take part in a wide variety of co-curricular activities in the realms of Sport, Art, Drama and Music, ensuring that they can explore their interests and make the most of their talents.
Our pupils are ultimately prepared for entry to the Senior School where they will study for GCSEs and, later, the world leading International Baccalaureate Diploma. At St Leonards the enriching spirit of the IB pervades everything we do and Junior School pupils benefit from the truly inspirational learning environment that is the result.
The overriding aims of the St Leonards Junior School education are to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience and to bring out the best in every pupil.
