Safeguarding Network: Early Help and Successful Interventions

28 June 2023 9.15am – 2.45pm Leadership Online

Providing early help is more effective in promoting the welfare of children, young people and their families than reacting later. Early Help is about taking action to tackle problems for children and families before they grow into something that is more difficult to overcome. It is about identifying children and families that may be at risk of running into difficulties to provide timely and effective support. Effective early help relies upon families, communities and local agencies working together.

Aims and objectives:

To help you understand

  • How early help works
  • when early help should be used
  • how to assess needs, formulate and effectively review a family plan
  • who should be the lead professional
  • how to talk to a family about early help and gain consent
