Working with Unions
The session is being led by Ollie Daniels and Rachel Parkin from HCR Law and chaired by Emilie Darwin, Deputy CEO of IAPS.
In the light of increasing union engagement in the sector, future reform and potentially contentious workforce change processes, independent schools are navigating new working relationships with trade union representatives, as well as a heightened risk of industrial action. This session will focus on the key concepts of union recognition and collective bargaining, providing practical strategies for mitigating the risk of disputes and the threat of industrial action, as well as guidance on how to work collaboratively and effectively with union representatives. It will also assess the potential impact of forthcoming reform in this area.
