School-Type Networks are affinity groups designed to bring together IAPS members from schools with similar characteristics. This initiative aims to address the diverse needs of our members by providing a platform for Heads of specific school types to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and access tailored support.

We have identified seven distinct school types for this initiative:

  • Schools in a commercial group
  • Small schools (fewer than 200 pupils)
  • 13+ schools and / or boarding schools
  • Standalone 11+ schools
  • 16 Network (schools with provision up to age 16)
  • Proprietorial schools
  • All-through schools / charitable foundations

These groups offer a flexible and inclusive environment where members can identify with one or more categories. By participating in these networks, Heads can better address the specific needs of their institutions and benefit from targeted discussions and resources.

Online Meetings:
These online events provide Heads of similar schools from across the UK (and potentially beyond) with the opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and hear from expert speakers. Each session will focus on specific issues pertinent to the respective school type, offering additional support and knowledge-sharing.

We encourage all members to get involved with one or more of these groups. Dates and times of meetings currently arranged during the spring term can be found below. Please click the links to book your place at any session(s) that you feel would be useful:

We look forward to seeing you at these events and continuing to strengthen our IAPS community.
