School-Type Networks are affinity groups designed to bring together IAPS members from schools with similar characteristics. This initiative aims to address the diverse needs of our members by providing a platform for Heads of specific school types to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and access tailored support.
We have identified five distinct school types for this initiative:
- Through schools / charitable foundations
- 13+ schools and/or boarding schools
- Proprietorial schools / part of a commercial group
- Standalone 11+
- Small schools (fewer than 200 pupils)
These groups offer a flexible and inclusive environment where members can identify with one or more categories. By participating in these networks, Heads can better address the specific needs of their institutions and benefit from targeted discussions and resources.
Online Meetings:
These online events provide Heads of similar schools from across the UK (and potentially beyond) with the opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and hear from expert speakers. Each session will focus on specific issues pertinent to the respective school type, offering additional support and knowledge-sharing.
The initial online meetings will take place as follows:
- Group: Through schools / charitable foundations
- Date: Tuesday 25 February; 11.00am-12.00pm
- Group: 13+ schools and/or boarding schools
- Date: Thursday 6 March; 4.00pm-5.00pm
- Group: Proprietorial schools / part of a commercial group
- Date: Monday 17 March; 1.00pm-2.00pm
- Group: Standalone 11+ schools
- Date: Monday 10 February; 12.00pm-1.00pm
- Group: Small schools

To attend the online discussions for any of the School-Type Networks, please sign up for your relevant network's next meeting or register an interest in attending future meetings. We encourage all members to participate, share their experiences, and benefit from the expertise of fellow Heads.
We look forward to seeing you at these events and continuing to strengthen our IAPS community.
