St John's College Junior School
St John's College Junior School educates children between the ages of 2 and 11. It comprises of a Nursery (Known as Little St John's), a Pre-Preparatory Department (Reception-Year 2) and a Preparatory Department (Years 3-6).
The Junior School is housed in its own attractive buildings on the main school campus. This enables the children to enjoy their own safe and secure environment, and also to benefit from ready access to many Senior School facilities, such as the Chapel, Sports Hall and Refectory. Our classrooms are bright, spacious and well-resourced, and we have our own well-equipped Science laboratory, ICT suite, Library, and Art and Design room. All classes have a class teacher who takes charge of the pupils overall development and day-to-day pastoral care – and who teaches the majority of their lessons. Our key aims are: • To enable pupils to benefit from a broad-based and challenging curriculum that will help each individual to realise their full academic potential. • To encourage pupils to develop a range of key transferable skills that will help them to prepare for success in an ever-changing world. • To offer pupils a breadth and depth of enriching aesthetic, cultural and spiritual experience as a means of encouraging their personal development.
