About us

Abbey School & Nursery is a small, independent school for children from Nursery to Year 6, offering a warm, ambitious and inclusive education where every child is known as an individual. School class sizes are firmly capped at 16, allowing teachers to provide high levels of individual attention, challenge and support. Our ethos is underpinned by three values – Respect, Resilience and Responsibility – helping children to grow into confident, kind and capable young people.

Children enjoy a broad curriculum combining strong academic foundations with specialist teaching and opportunities beyond the classroom. Swimming, sport, music, performance and outdoor learning all form part of Abbey life, with children encouraged to discover their strengths, develop new interests and experience success in different ways. Nursery and School share the same ethos, helping children make a familiar and seamless transition into Reception.

Abbey offers Academic and Swimming Scholarships for children demonstrating particular ability and potential.
