About us

AKS Prep School offers a broad and engaging education for children aged 4–11, encompassing Infants (Reception–Year 2) and Juniors (Year 3–Year 6). Based in Lytham St. Annes and welcoming families from across the Fylde Coast and Preston area, the school combines strong academics with an extensive co-curricular programme.

Learning extends well beyond the classroom. Specialist teaching across Creative Arts, Modern Languages, Computing and Sport allows pupils to discover new interests and develop their talents, while Reception pupils benefit from dedicated Forest School provision. From music, drama and performance to hockey, rugby, football, netball, athletics, cricket, rounders and tennis, children are encouraged to get involved and try something new.

Character education is central to Prep School life. The school’s approach is shaped by the Round Square Discovery Framework, with an emphasis on developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and independence alongside academic learning. From Year 3, annual residential experiences provide further opportunities for pupils to challenge themselves and grow in confidence.
