IAPS Staff

There are 17 members of staff working to support the IAPS membership at our headquarters in Leamington Spa.

Their priorities are determined by the IAPS Council, made up of members, elected by members.
 

Chris Davies | Chairman, 2017-20
The Chairman of IAPS is elected for a three year term by the AGM, having been nominated by Council. It is the job of the Chairman to guide the CEO and staff, attend Committee meetings, act as an expert spokesperson and be consulted on significant policy decisions.

 

 

 

Tania Botting | Vice Chairman, 2017-18
The Vice Chairman, who is nominated by the District Representatives for election by Council, is elected for a one year appointment. The Vice Chair attends Committee meetings and District meetings and acts as an essential conduit between the membership and IAPS HQ, leads and is a figure head at the IAPS Annual Conference and deputises for the Chairman of IAPS as required.

 

 

 

Chief Executive’s Office

David Hanson | Chief Executive
As well as fulfilling all the functions of Chief Executive, David works with the Chairman and Council to shape the strategic direction of IAPS. David is the figurehead of the Association and offers first-line support to any member in difficulty.

Diane Kamen | PA to Chief Executive
Diane is first port of call for David Hanson, handling all his telephone calls and correspondence. She manages David’s diary, makes travel arrangements and handles all his administration. Diane is also clerk to Council and Strategy Committee.

Petra Hancock | Membership Secretary
Petra handles all membership enquiries and supports the induction of new members. She oversees the regular inspection of IAPS schools and advises on inspection matters. Petra supports the work of the Membership Committee, which ensures standards are maintained by IAPS members and their schools.

The Communications Manager handles all internal and external communications and public relations. They manage the website content, all IAPS social media and works to promote the organisation and the private education sector as a whole. Their role also involves giving advice to members on communications issues.

Education, Advice, Sport and Training Office

 

Mark Brotherton | Director of Education
Mark provides educational support to schools and initiates educational research and development within IAPS. He is responsible for the courses and conferences programme, working with Helen. Mark also works with other educational bodies to promote the interests of prep schools.

Anna Bond | PA to Director of Education
Anna looks after the Director of Education’s day-to-day requirements, managing appointments and helping to co-ordinate events. She is also committee clerk to the Education Committee.

Helen Hill | Events, Courses and Conferences Manager
Helen supports the Director of Education in the development of the IAPS courses and conferences programme. She works closely with Maxine, Gail and Helen to co-ordinate training. She also attends the Education Committee and is responsible for organising Annual Conference.

Maxine Rai | Courses and Conferences Administrator
Maxine maintains the database for Annual Conference and most residential and day courses, monitoring requirements of delegates and dealing with associated administration.

Helen Wycherley | Education Administrator
Helen looks after the administration for courses and conferences. She co-ordinates delegate bookings and speakers’ requirements, including handout materials. Helen is also the committee clerk for the annual Subject Leaders’ meeting and supports them in their role as part of the courses programme.

Frances Hide | Sport Events Manager
Frances advises and coordinates the work and administration of volunteer sports event organisers and tournaments, edits and updates written guidance to event organisers, secures suitable venues and ensures that the IAPS Sports Handbook for schools is up-to-date and IAPS sports web pages remain current and interesting.

Emily Connell | Sport Events Co-Ordinator
Emily provides admin support to the sports programme by responding to emails and telephone enquiries from schools and parents, maintaining records of entries and participation in sports events, including data entry and management. She is also clerk to the Sport Committee.

Finance and Operations Office

Richard Flower | Finance and Operations Director
Richard provides bursarial and governance advice to schools. He is responsible for managing the Association’s finances. He works with external bodies and supports the IAPS pension scheme and IAPS charity, iTrust. Richard deputises for the CEO when required.

Teresa Young | Assistant Finance Manager
Teresa is the first point of contact for detailed finance matters and coordinates the day to day aspects of the finance office. She supports Arvind and Richard in the production of management accounts and statutory returns and directs the work of the Accounts Assistant. Not only does the Finance office run sales and purchase ledgers but it also acts as an agent for copyright licences.

Zoe Murray | Accounts Assistant
Zoe raises invoices, maintains sales and purchase ledgers, and deals with general accounts administration and queries. In addition she helps out with any other office tasks.

Arvind Mistry | Accountant
Arvind works part time, with his primary responsibilities including management accounts, VAT and payroll. He also authorises purchase ledger payments, reconciles and resolves accounts and deals with overdue accounts.

Christine McCrudden | Association Administrator
Christine is responsible for ensuring that the HQ building, IT systems and telephones are operating smoothly and for co-ordinating suggestions for improvements. She also liaises with external suppliers to ensure efficient operations. She assists the Communications Manager with regard to the IAPS website, headlines and organises any mailings. She provides cover on reception when required. Christine is the Health and Safety Officer and a qualified First Aider.

Sue McKenzie | Administration Assistant
One of the main aspects of Sue’s job is to answer the phone and either deal with queries herself or refer the caller to the appropriate person. Supporting both teams, a large part of Sue’s job involves reprographics and the preparation of delegate packs for training courses. Sue is also responsible for all catering in the HQ.
