Inspection support
If you have a query about inspection, please contact our Membership Officer Laura Twynholm.
Nick Robinson, Director of International, can also offer advice and assistance with any inspection-related queries, including reviewing action plans.
Preparation for inspection
As you prepare for inspection, please be assured that you have our support. We can work with you in preparation for your inspection.
Please see Supporting quality and compliance in UK schools for further information about how we can help .
Please also use our Courses Calendar to search for events in our Professional Development programme that may aid the preparation process.
Supporting Quality and Compliance service
In preparation for a planned inspection, our Supporting Quality and Compliance service provides one day of in-school support from an experienced consultant, who can offer guidance on the specific improvement priorities you choose to focus on.
While the consultant will not assess compliance or conduct a mock inspection, they will draw upon their leadership experience in IAPS schools and their strong understanding of the Independent School Standards to discuss selected areas with you and your team.
To help you plan the visit, you will be provided with a list of all available discussion topics and their typical durations in a single document, enabling you to decide what you want to cover and which dates work best. Full‑day visits can be booked based on the availability of the consultant nearest to your school.
Please see further information about the service for UK schools and for international schools.
What to do if you receive an unmet inspection
If an unmet inspection is received, IAPS can support you in moving forward.
Our Director of International Nick Robinson has extensive experience working with schools which have had this experience and is happy to offer guidance as you prepare for the upcoming Progress Monitoring Inspection.
