Following valuable feedback from our Senior Leadership Associate membership, we are pleased to offer the first in a series of practical and timely online free sessions delivered in collaboration with Dr Kathy Weston at Tooled up education that are designed to help leaders better support pupils whose attendance is becoming a concern due to anxiety.
With increasing numbers of children experiencing difficulties attending school, schools are often at the forefront of supporting both pupils and their families. This session will explore the evidence behind school attendance challenges, helping leaders understand the possible factors that may contribute to a child struggling to attend.
Alongside the research, delegates will gain practical strategies for responding to pupil distress, working effectively with parents and carers, and developing supportive plans that help children re-engage with education. The session will also provide guidance on appropriate sources of additional support and where families can be signposted when further help is needed.
