For many parents, paying for a private education for their child will mean making some sacrifices and adapting family priorities. It’s important to remember that fees will vary from school to school and will inevitably increase as your child gets older. The cost of attending a boarding school will also be higher than that of a day school.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, we would strongly advise you to contact the school bursar to discuss your options. Many schools offer scholarships or means-tested bursaries to help with the cost. The head or bursar of your chosen school will be able to provide further information. You can also investigate alternative sources of funding such as government grants, local authority grants and grant giving trusts.
Our own charity, itrust, helps to fund the school fees of children who may not otherwise have the chance to go to a prep school.
