When does it take place?
The gymnastics championships take place in the Autumn term.
2022/2023 competition
Bookings will open on Tuesday, 13 September 2022 at 0900.
Bookings will close on Thursday, 20 October 2022 at 1700.
A "Book Now" button will appear on the left. You will select the qualifier that you wish to attend.
For events in the Autumn term, bookings will open during the Summer term preceding it.
For events in the Spring term, bookings will open during the Autumn term.
For events in the Summer term, bookings will open during the Spring term.
Age groups
Girls: U9, U10, U11, U13
Boys: U9, U11, U13
Eligibility
Pupils can only take part in one age group throughout the whole competition.
Teams
- Schools should enter as a team. Individual entries are not accepted.
- Teams should be made up of between 4-6 boys or girls.
- Teams should be single sex.
- One team only can be entered in each age group (it is not possible to enter advanced and novice in the same age group)
- In the girls' competition, a coach must choose between the novice and the advanced competition for each team but may not choose to put two girls' teams in the same age group.

Groups' Sequence competition for girls
4 team members compete a synchronised sequence to music lasting 90 seconds
The group sequence competition is a stand along competition. All members of the team will receive a medal if successful (even the 5th/6th member who may not perform on the day.)
Scoring
The top four scores on each discipline will count.
The scores will be added together to produce team scores along with individual scores.
Each gymnast will have all of their own marks totalled to culminate in an individual ranking.
Coaches
- For any school that enters more than one team will require at least a second member of staff/responsible adult who is able to warm up a team and sit with them during floor exercises.
- The competitions run concurrently across 2 sports halls so your teams may be performing at the same time
Competitor details
Once you have booked, you will be asked to provide some details about your competitors before the event. In line with GDPR, only essential information is collected in order to be able to organise the sports event.
The national governing body for gymnastics in England is British Gymnastics.
Please note that the rules and regulations are specific to IAPS.
Please note the Novice U9 set floor is quite different from the Advanced U9 set floor. Please read these carefully before entering.
