Dominic Norrish appointed as next CEO

Over the last few months we have been conducting an extensive and thorough search for the next CEO to replace Christopher King when he retires from the position next summer. Last week we completed the final round of interviews and have appointed Dominic Norrish.

Dominic will join IAPS following a decade in senior roles at United Learning, the UK’s largest schools group, which includes several IAPS member schools. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer with responsibilities spanning digital, leadership development, inspection preparation, HR and marketing.  He will bring a wealth of experience of developing membership services to support school leadership and effectiveness, as well as detailed knowledge of the myriad challenges that face heads in running successful schools.  Dominic began his teaching career in the maintained sector where he was promoted into senior school leadership roles and he also spent time in the independent sector. Dominic’s background in educational technology has meant that recent years have seen him make contributions to national policy and support during the pandemic. Dominic is a trustee of educational charities, a qualified executive coach and when he has a spare moment he runs in marathons all over the world.

Dominic is “very excited to be joining IAPS and to work alongside so many outstanding school leaders. The association’s schools are providing a world-class education for tens of thousands of children and I look forward to playing a part in helping them continue to thrive.
