Kensington Prep School
Kensington Prep School is an award-winning independent girls' school, situated in the heart of Fulham, with 290 girls from the age of 4 to 11 years. Entry at all levels is by assessment.
Kensington Prep School is an award-winning school in Fulham and regarded as one of the best prep schools in the country. Girls (aged 4-11) achieve outstanding academic results, the school recently received the highest possible inspection grade - ‘exceptional’ and the facilities are superb and cutting-edge.
A recent innovative £2.7m building project 'Creating Spaces for Growing Minds' has transformed the school creating a high-tech Explore Floor, multi-media studio, Eco-Greenhouse and spacious classroom breakout spaces. These imaginative new spaces complement the excellent classroom-based learning and give girls wonderful opportunities to experience independent learning, exploration and collaborative work.
The school is set in an acre of ground near Parson's Green. It provides large, bright classrooms, a state of the art hall/gymnasium with raked seating, a beautiful library and specialist rooms for science, technology, art, music, ICT and drama. Outside there is a large playground providing fantastic play facilities, netball and tennis courts and a pond area for environmental studies. Girls learn in a supportive, secure and stimulating environment and move on to some of the best day and boarding schools in and around London. Our pupils achieve high academic standards, but Kensington Prep is not a narrowly academic school. We offer a broad curriculum, treat each of our pupils as an individual and encourage them to become independent, questioning, creative thinkers. The school received the prestigeous Sunday Times Parent Power award and an 'outstanding' inspection report. Alastair McCall, editor of The Sunday Times Parent Power said: “Kensington Prep’s award is thoroughly deserved. It has been a consistently strong performer over many years, but what sets it apart is the inspiring leadership of Mrs Lynch and innovations in the curriculum such as the timetabling of creative thinking. Exam success is almost incidental at this school, a bi-product of everything else it does – which is of course how it should be. The result is happy and engaged girls with a sense of purpose and a belief that they can succeed.”
