Town Close House Preparatory School
Co-educational IAPS - for boys and girls aged 3-13
Viewed from the road, it is hard to appreciate the full extent of the beautiful wooded grounds in which the School is situated. The facilities enjoyed by staff and pupils alike are superb, but even more striking for the visitor is the enthusiasm of the children for everything they do. Effort and commitment are celebrated in every part of school life, with maximum participation as the goal. Our primary aim is to give all girls and boys the confidence which arises from having achieved as much as they can, irrespective of ability.
In the Early Years Foundation Stage for children from the age of three, youngsters are nurtured and encouraged to discover how to achieve their full potential in safe and beautiful surroundings. Highly qualified staff provide welcoming and vibrant learning environments, both inside and outdoors so that children feel confident to explore. Flexible care arrangements are in place to assist with family commitments.
Great importance is given to the performing arts. A newly designed performance hall provides our girls and boys with opportunities to participate in year group productions. A major musical was staged in October to complement year group and whole school concerts. There are 13 different music ensembles for pupils to consider joining!
A high specification sports hall and a brand new, floodlit Astroturf facility are now complete. Our first teams compete regionally and nationally, but equally important is the fact that all girls and boys at Town Close are given the opportunity to play for School teams.
The only way to get a feel for the friendly community which exists here is to visit and should you decide to do so, I would be delighted to show you around and provide an opportunity for you to meet my colleagues and our pupils.
